So the worst thing that could have happened did happen! Your HDD hard drive failed and you lost all your information! But what about your big presentation you have at the end of the week with your boss? All the information for that PowerPoint presentation was also lost and you did not back it up on a thumb drive! I bet you think you are doomed! Well, you’re not! In fact, you just got lucky! Whether it was due to your personal error, formatting partitions, virus attack, bad sectors on the storage media, reinstalling the operating system, partition table corruption, MBR, power surge or any other reason, your information can be restored! And this is all made possible by HDD Hard Drives Data Recovery Software.

Now as the name suggests, data recovery software is software which recovers lost data from malfunctioning media storages, whether it was lost due to physical or logical corruption of your hard disk drive as suggested above. It was deemed a necessity as there were thousands of individuals like yourself that was continuously loosing valuable data due to hard drive failure, which we all know is inevitable at some point in our computer’s life. In reality, hard drives have very sensitive components including the circuit board, actuator arm, shaft, motor, platters and the read/write head that usually get damaged over time and as is understood, when these go bad, the hard drive ceases to work.

This software has an amazing data restoration technology capable of recovering deleted files, documents, songs, videos, photos and even movies from hard drives, external hard disks, iPods, digital cameras, floppy drives and other storage media devices with supported operating systems such as Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Novell. Hence there is no need to worry that your operating system is not supported by data recovery software. If you have a Windows operating system, the Windows Data Recovery Software can recover all lost and deleted files and folders as it supports VFAT, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS and NTFS5 files. For those Mac computers, the Macintosh Data Recovery is capable of restoring Mac data from unattainable Mac volumes and Mac storage media devices including Mac HFS and HFS+ file systems. Additionally, the Novell Data Recovery restores information from Novell Netware and Novell NSS volumes, including those formatted. It also recovers data when v-repairs prove unsuccessful in repairing corrupt Novell partitions. Last but not least, those with a Linux operating system can also receive such benefits as this software is able to recover data from Linux EXT2, EXT3 and Reiserfs volumes, formatted Linux partitions. In addition, it can reinstate data after it deleted from the trash can and after Super Block or Inode table corruption.

So now all you need to do is to download one of these software for your precious HDD Hard Drive and finish preparing for that PowerPoint presentation for your boss! No worries!

What is the worst thing that can happen to your hard disk drive? You said it, it crashes! But what about all your important information you had stored on it? How will you ever be able to get all those back? The worst part is, you never saw it coming; or at least, you had no idea what the crash signs and symptoms were, so you did not know what to look out for! Well that’s why we’re here- to help you pinpoint those signs and symptoms of hard disk drive failure. So, you won’t get blindsided by such a failure in which case, the only thing to do would be to turn off your PC and call a data recovery specialist.

The first thing you need to know is, you hard drive will fail! As horrible as it sounds, all hard drives gradually over time lose its effectiveness and eventually fail. Okay, now that we have that bit of important information covered, we can now look for the signs!

One of the first signs includes your computer slowing down while saving and loading files. Here, the file may not load or even save and an error message eventually occurs after numerous minutes of the hourglass spinning. The frequency of this occurrence is a precise indication that some alterations need to be done to your hard drive. Another sign is also strange, slow, unusual crashes. With this, the computer freezes and you lose all control and the only thing you are left to do is to shut down. It might also be followed by continuous freezes by your keyboard and mouse (even though at times, it is just the hardware going bad). A more serious sign and symptom includes unusual sounds. Whether it is the whirring or buzzing of mouse clicks, whenever this occurs, a computer specialist should be contacted immediately as usually when these types of noises are heard, shortly after the hard drive fails; as these sounds may be the result of a broken actuator arm of the failure of a servo motor. Additionally, if there is no sound from the hard drive to indicate that is reading or writing from a storage device while it is, then there is a big problem with the drive! This is due to excessive heat being released by the Central Processing Unit which causes some components within the hard drive to expand and touch other components.

Now one of the most common signs of hard drive failure is system boot up problems. Sometimes when you press the power button to turn on, it refuses to due to the fact that the hard drive has corrupted boot record data or contains bad sectors. In such a case, it means your hard drive is in imminent danger as most times, booting is done from the hard disk and if there is a problem with it, then the computer will not boot up. Other little signs to look out for include file loss or corruption, multimedia files having a life of its own by skipping and being distorted as well as the blue screen of death appears. This blue screen appears with a lot of information written on it, basically means it is running a crash recovery program to recover data that has been lost.

When all is said and done, if you are experiencing more than one of these symptoms, then you need to back up all your information immediately and contact a computer specialist to take a look at your hard disk drive! Don’t think it won’t happen to you! So even if you are not having any of these signs, it will only be a matter of time before you will, which in that case, start backing up those files from now!

What is a firmware? Why do we need to constantly update our firmware? What does a firmware have to do with a DVD Burner? Do these questions sound familiar to you? Are you also curious when it comes to firmware DVD Burner updating? Well, look no more because it will all be addressed in a jiffy! The first thing you need to know is that all CD/ DVD Burners and Re-Writers come with a firmware. A firmware is a set of coded instructions that is stored permanently on a chip within the optical drive that internally controls the electronic device. This firmware can easily be updated by the user by downloads from the World Wide Web.

But this still leads us back to one of the questions, why do we need to update our firmware? Undoubtedly, the more obvious advantages include the fact the latest firmware has the ability to fix many of the bugs and viruses that came with the DVD Burner when it was purchased and has the capability of providing your DVD Burner with extra features such as the ability to burn a Dual Layer Media! But what is a Dual Layer Media (also referred to as the DL DVD+R Media)? It is the newest technology of optical discs with a remarkable 8.5Giga Bytes of storage capacity! This can allow up to 16 hours of VHS quality video, 4 hours of DVD quality video and over 120 hours of MP3 audio! There are also firmware available that enables the computer user to change the Book Type and Bit Setting of their DVD media! In essence, this allows for more compatibility with compact discs that have different Book Types that the Book Type Value of the burner.

Fundamentally, Firmware DVD Burner updating is imminent due to the fact that new Media is constantly being placed onto the market for consumers which have higher burn speeds with different Media ID’s. In order for one’s DVD Burner to be able to use these new Media, new and updated firmware has to be released that has greater compatibility with more Media types. Hence this is the reason why updates are important. It must be noted however that usually when a new DVD Burner is introduced onto the market for sale, it is likely that it will be compatible with media already available to the public so there is no immediate need for a Firmware DVD Burner update!

But the most important thing you should remember is one should take precaution while updating their firmware! Even though they can be easily acquired through internet downloads, there are various unofficial and hacked firmware that can potentially damage your burner and void all warranties that came with the purchase. Thus, it is always good to research before any downloads are made and even more importantly, visit the DVD Burner manufacturer’s website that will provide you with the official firmware. Happy updating!

How frustrating is it to be playing an awesome game on your Xbox, to be then disrupted by a never ending red light on the system? How annoying! But the best thing about all this is that you can repair this red light error! Hence, there is no need to worry that your Xbox life is over, because it isn’t! All in all, you must be wondering what causes these red light errors. Well, it boils down to heat! This is due to the fact that the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) has become loose. Essentially, the GPU is the motherboard, which is also referred to as the 360 motherboard.

But as stated earlier, these problems can be altered easily which would entail cleaning the 360 motherboard. In fact, it has been estimated that one can take the maximum, an hour to repair these red light errors. Now, one can either choose to repair this red light error by themselves or let the manufacturer, Microsoft do the job! Either way is fine but remember, there is a $100 cost attached to shipping your Xbox to Microsoft so that they can make the modifications. But this is all if your warranty has expired; otherwise, just contact the repair centre for additional information and support.

With regards to fixing this red light error yourself, there is one important factor which one must adhere to and that involves not using the “bath towel technique”! Regardless of what you might read elsewhere, using this technique to ‘cool’ down the system will in fact do the exact opposite. The point is not to increase the temperature of the console but to decrease it and wrapping it in a bath towel will only increase heat! The best thing would be to switch off the Xbox immediately and allowing it a few minutes to decrease the temperature. Only when the system has cooled down, should it be restarted!

However your best bet would be to follow an online repair manual that will be able to guide you through the entire process of repairing the red light error! More importantly, it helps you to avoid making those serious mistakes that can ultimately damage your 360 motherboard. The best manuals include a step by step video with instructions. Hence, you not only will read, but will also see the detailed procedure of this simple task.

If neither of these two options mentioned above seem feasible to you, then you can always take your Xbox to your nearest computer technician who might charge you as much as Microsoft or even more! But whatever your choice is, remember this red light error can be fixed, so there is no need to worry that your Xbox 360 motherboard is wrecked! So next time you see those flashing red lights, don’t go into panic mode but action mode!
